Those of you who access GDC's flight planning services via our website, www.mygdc.com, might notice something new -- we now offer a choice of two flight planning systems to choose from! A new high performance Web Flight Planning system is now available online.
GDC's Web Flight Planning system provides a variety of new features in addition to a modern web interface. The flight planning system is web based and hence can be accessed from any PC via a web browser.
Our new flight planning system is both more powerful and more flexible. Behind the scenes, the new system employs the aircraft manufacturer's performance data coupled with a robust routing engine to provide accurate performance calculations and flyable routes. Flight plans may be optimized for minimum time or minimum fuel, and other new features are planned in the near future.
GDC's new Web Flight Planning system simplifies flight planning with user-friendly point-and-click menus. New features include expanded drift-down reports, multiple wind models (including historical winds), enhanced aircraft performance data, and updated route selections. Among others, new route choices include National Route Program (NRP) routes, Polar and Pacific Tracks, and FAA Coded Departure Routes (CDR).
Before flight planning for the first time on the new system you must first create an aircraft profile for your aircraft. After logging into the website, also refer to our "Help" menus for more information and specific guidance during flight planning.
